Our bikes got stolen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We slept and did not notice before the next morning, but they literally locked us into our house, cut the gate open and took our two motorbikes!!! AAAAARRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I guess that`s the price of living in a smugglers town where everyone is involved! Still frustrating! Really frustrating!!! It was our savings, and we had no such thing as insurance! Still, in a town like this, there`s no need in crying for help and justice! That was all too late the moment it happened! F***!!!!

It suddenly made much more sense why everyone have dogs though!

My organization through which I do the work on the borderline.

The money I get through this organization all goes to the projects on the borderline. We are lucky to have got the Norwegian entrepreneur HENT as our main sponsor, and most of our Ga Yaw Ga Yaw buildingprojects are sponsored by them. It`s manly used for salary`s and food for the workers, materials and equipment. www.hent.no

I truly believe our policy to help people help themselves is the way to go. The local feedback on our projects so far and the group mentality among my colleagues is indescribably great!

I do however realize that it requires a minimum of needs covered before people can take action of their own development. For the kids at the local school across the river, they don`t learn very much if they don`t get at least two meals a day and can sleep in a mosquitonet to avoid malaria. That is also the case for the 70 kids at the dormitory in Mae La Oon refugeecamp who live there because it is the only place they can go to school. You can be the most dedicated student, but without food it is not easy to learn. And the story goes on and on...... I can not help everyone, but these to cases are kids and places I have followed through the last years. I try to support them every month, but I need some help.

Some places touches your hart more then others! For me, Safe Haven Orphanage (or direct translated from Karen: Big Mum`s House on the Rocks), is that special place. Few, if any people I have met, carry the name "Big Mum" so rightly as the lady in charge of this big family. Her name is Tasanee, and her authoritarian, but loving behavior as a mother and role model for the more then 60 children in her care, is no less than impressive. From time to time different actors are contributing, mostly through building projects, but also by donating clothes etc. Food and everyday needs are however not fully covered. To give an economical base, I have made a sponsorprogram for the children. This is of course done in cooperation with Tasanee. Sponsors in Norway pay 200NOK every month, and the money goes to the everyday needs of the orphanage. If you are interested in sponsoring for a longer period, please e-mail and I will send you the information and sponsorappointment for a year.

To put everything completely right, I will inform that for me, I don`t get payed to do this, but the sponsormoney pays for my plane ticket. For the rest I live of the money I earn during my holidays in Norway.
